We started the day off by renting a car and dropping off our dirty laundry on the way. We hit the road with Bob driving a nice AlfaRomeo, nothing cheap about us.
The first stop was at the town of Montefalco which is about 35 km NW of Spoleto. A very pretty town. We passed on stopping and proceeded on to Todi. Todi is a beautiful town high on a town with walls surrounding it. Again, like so many towns over here, very narrow streets and many nice shops. After eating lunch from a little pizzeria we continued on to Orvieto.
Orevieto, again built on a hill within surrounding walls, has a beautiful church within the center of town.
Just one of many nice streets of Todi
The hike to the city was a nice stroll!!
We love all the many arches.
Shirl's wonderful outlook on life.
We encountered a heavy rain and thunder storm during lunch in Orvieto..
Marilynn, we thought of you when we took these pictures as we have no idea what they are except they are beautiful.
This is the church in Orvieto, one of the most beautiful we have seen.
A shop full of clocks.
More arches in Orvieto.
This square had a lot of trees with red ribbons. Apparently they filmed a movie here the day prior to our arrival.
After another light lunch, we headed back to Spoleto to plan our next outing, a train to Perugia.
