Friday and Saturday, September 21, 22, 2012:

Today was a little sad as Kathy left us to go back home.  It has been enjoyable traveling with her.  We took our last walk through Verona.  Visiting here, and especially at the apartment La Dolce Vita, has been an experience we will not forget.  Thank you Anne.

Juliet's apartment and the famous balcony.

The statue of Juliet.

While having lunch on our last day in Verona we noticed some beautiful flowers hanging on the building wall. An idea for next summer?

I tried to check in to our flight on Air Italy via the computer but their website kept telling me they did not have a reservation for us going to Naples at 8:00 am Saturday.  I assumed that it was just a computer issue and did not worry about it.  Upon arriving at the airport at 6:00 am we were advised that our flight had been cancelled and we were rescheduled for a 4:55 pm flight.  Let me tell you spending the entire day in the Verona airport is not one of my most memorable moments...but if one rolls with issues then all will be OK.  Fortunately we were able to make contact with our limo driver and he was able to still met us at the airport for the drive down the Amalfi coast to Praiano, our next stop on our adventure.

Driving down the Amalfi coast is an adventure, one that is both beautiful but also hair raising.  They consider the roadway yellow center line as the guide that the driver is suppose to center their car on...now motorcycles are another issue, those cycle drivers must have a death wish...Yes, I realize I am an old fart when it comes to bikes, but....

We arrived to the apartment to be greeted by Bob and Markley, our good friends from Albuquerque.

It has been a long day, we are off to a nice dinner and a good nights sleep.
