Monday, September 17, 2012:

Today we started out by having a nice 2 hour coffee meeting with our host Anne.  One could not ask for a more congenial and helpful host who truly feels that she has not done her job unless you are feeling care for with your needs anticipated. She has gone out of her way to make us feel at home.
Anne, our gracious host.

Some of the beautiful churches in town.  We spent the afternoon on a Hop on-Hop off buses touring the town.  They are actually a nice way to get the initial view of the town.
Some serious decisions are being made....
The view of Verona from Santuario Madonna di Lourdes Church, high on the hills above Verona. Our condo is located  about two blocks to the left of the bridge in the foreground.  Excellent location for walking into the town.  A car is not needed to visit Verona.  The population of the town is around 250,000, which is more than I had expected, but the physical layout is such that it does not feel like a large town.  Very enjoyable!

Dinner tonight in the town square.  Excellent pasta, pizza and local wine.

Tomorrow we are headed to Venice for the next two days.
