Monday, September 24, 2012 -- The Traveling Huntley''s

Monday, September 24, 2012:

After a lazy morning we took the local city bus to the town of Positano, about 7 miles north of Praiano.  If you can imagine one of those pictures you have seen where the bus is so over crowded that if you are standing in the middle of the crowd you would not see anything except your neighbors arm pit, well that is what this bus ride was like.

Waiting for the bus

The price of gas in town!!  Euro's per Liter

We exited the bus about 1/3 of the way down the hill into town.  The area on the coast where we are staying is all steep hillside with very narrow windy roads down to the waters edge.  The town of Positano, similar to most of the towns along this portion of the coast, are basically a vertical town.  We eventually reached the water level where we investigated the price for taking a boat to the island of Capri.

The view Praiano from the city of Positano.  Our condo is where the middle green area is.

Some views of the city of Positano while we were walking down the road into town.

Lunch

We had dinner at the restaurant that the family where we are staying owns.  The family has three boys (handsome, single and in their late 20's to early 30's) who operate the restaurant and condo rentals. The family operation is quite common over here where the boys stay single and work within the family business.

We are going on an all day tour tomorrow of Pompeii  Herculaneum, and Vesuvius.
